Alliant Energy has officially presented a check for $53,259 to Winneshiek Medical Center for rebates for an energy efficiency project.
Following the recommendations of an Alliant Energy feasibility study, the hospital spent around $900,000 on energy-saving measures. It is anticipated the improvements will save $116,000 per year.
Said WMC Acting Chief Administrative Officer Dave Rooney, "In a time when the use of every health care dollar must be evaluated, current and future savings resulting from our recent improvements - coupled with other efforts to become more efficient in our work - will have a direct impact on our ability to provide the best value to our patients."
