Decorah attorney Nick Rowley has just won two large verdicts in trials in California.

In "Wall versus Miramontes, Group 1 Automotive and Rancho Auto Group," a case involving a car and motorcycle crash, a jury on Saturday returned a verdict calling for $7million in non-economic damages.  The total judgment will exceed $8 million because of pre-judgement interest and costs.

Rowley was the attorney for Matthew Wall, who was driving around a curve in San Diego on his Harley Davidson on August 30th, 2007 when Pedro Miramontes, a driver for Group 1 Automotive, made a left hand turn directly into the path of Wall's motorcycle.

In "Sierra Charles versus Mountain View Mobile Home," a jury on December 8th returned a verdict of a $1 million settlement.

Rowley was the attorney for Sierra Charles, who was3 1/2 years old and living in the mobile home park when she rode her bike off of a 16-foot drop off which was at the edge of the mobile home park.  She was taken to a hospital, but employees did not diagnose a concussion or any other injuries and discharged Sierra home the same day.  A year later Sierra was diagnosed as having suffered a mild traumatic brain injury.
