The City of Decorah's Streets Committee will again take up the issue of the reconstruction of Short Street.
A meeting of the committee has been scheduled for Monday, December 19th, at 6:15 p.m. in the Decorah Public Library.
City council members have unanimously approved a Preliminary Resolution for the project. The move is largely a procedural one, setting in motion the necessity of doing the street project, but not specifying particulars.
City council members have asked City Engineer Lindsay Erdman to also draw up a proposal for a two-lane street. Neighboring property owners along Short Street have opposed a proposal to widen the street to three lanes.
