The Decorah City Council will have two new faces in the future.
In Decorah's Second Ward, newcomer Julie Fischer has won election to the post, drawing 182 votes in Tuesday's election. She defeated Josh Spilde, who had 72 votes. The Second Ward seat on the city council has been held by Karen Tjossem, who decided not to seek re-election.
In Decorah's Fourth Ward, incumbent Steve Matter did not seek reelection. Newcomer Carolyn Corbin won the seat with 62 votes. She was unopposed.
Meanwhile, in an at-large district race, incumbent city council member Rachel Vagts defeated challenger Gary Finholt 661-132
14 percent of Decorah's 5,777 registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday's election.
