City endorses $56,000 Alliant Energy grant application by Winneshiek Energy District

Winneshiek Energy District is getting the support of the City of Decorah in applying for $56,000 in fundng from Alliant Energy.

The grant--if received--would help pay for energy efficiency programs within the city limits.  Alliant Energy has money available on a per capita basis for communities that take steps to reduce electricity consumption.

If Winneshiek Energy District receives the funding from Alliant, the program would begin some time next spring.
