Those who did not receive tickets to Thursday morning's program for King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway could still get a glimpse of the royals as they headed into the Center for Faith and Life.
A crowd of around 250 people lined the campus drive in front of the CFL. They waited around 30 minutes, then caught a glimpse of Iowa Governor Terry Branstad arriving in a State Patrol car.
8-year-old Quinn Torgerson and her grandfather, Luther College president Rick Torgerson, waiting patiently for the Norwegian royalty on the steps of the CFL.
There was a false alarm as a big vehicle turned out to be a delivery truck, not part of the royal entourage. But finally more State Patrol cars with their lights flashing pulled up to the CFL and then, in a van, King Harald and Queen Sonja got out and greeted the crowd.
