Free mental health first aid class to be offered later this month

HAWC Partnerships for Children and Community and the Circle of Care program are offering a two-day mental health first aid training class in October.

The classes will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, October 17th and 18th, at the Cresco Chamber of Commerce building.

The class will teach participants how to give help to a person showing signs of mental illness or in a mental health crisis.  "Mental Health First Aid" is provided until an appropriate mental health professional can be engaged.
