A family living just north of West Union off Highway 150 has been chosen by the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" crew to receive a new home.
Crews surprised the family of Audrey Gibbs on Sunday. A news release from the show says her family was chosen because "their farmhouse is in need of significant repair with no working toilet, a ceiling that is caving in and a layout that does not work for the family -- especially Audrey if she completely loses her eyesight."
The Gibbs' farmhouse will be demolished at 10:00 a.m. Monday. Spectators will not be allowed at the site until Tuesday morning. Spectators can park at the Fayette County Fairgrounds and catch a shuttle to the construction site. All spectators are being encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
