The grandaughter of Tim and Dixie Hutchinson of Decorah, Maiya Little of Waterloo, is being featured this week on Channel 7 news for its "People You Should Know" feature.
Maiya spent one month in a coma when she was 2 years old. For the last three years she has made remarkable progress in recovering from ADEM, a brain injury caused by influenza A. Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo has presented Maiya with a "Medal4Mettle" for her courage and progress in recovering.
The profile of Maiya will be rebroadcast each morning this week from 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. on KWWL's morning news. It is also available at http://www.kwwl.com/story/15489862/sysk-waterloo-girls-earns-a-medal-for-hard-work-in-therapy
