Highway 9 bridge at Lansing reopens to traffic

The Highway 9 bridge over the Mississippi River at Lansing reopened to traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Repairs to fix cracks in a beam on the bridge have progressed enough that the bridge could be reopened, although motorists still will be delayed as crews repair similar beams as a safety precaution.

The additional repairs will require closure of one of the bridge's two lanes for the rest of this week. Flagmen will be stationed to assist traffic.
