Redemption center changes its operations as volume continues to increase

Decorah's beverage bottle redemption center, Martin Enterprises, has announced that it is making changes to better handle a continued increase in volume of containers.

Co-owner Kelley Martin says the business has patrons from over five counties coming in to redeem their bottles and cans.  Because of that, they have set a limit on the overall total they pay out each redemption day. After that limit is reached, they close their doors for the day to allow time to process what they have taken in.

Martin warns that some days the money is gone before noon.  He tells his customers, "Sorry for the inconvenience, but for us us to continue at all, this is how it is going to be."

The redemption center opens at 9:00 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and closes when the money is gone or at 5:30 p.m.--whichever comes first.
