New surgeon to begin practice in Decorah

The Gundersen Lutheran – Decorah Clinic has hired Dr. Michael LaBelle as its third surgeon.

Dr. LaBelle will join a staff that includes Dr. Scott Bierman and Dr. Phillip Yee.  He will provide a full range of general surgery services including hernia, gallbladder, C-sections and colonoscopies.

LaBelle received his bachelor's degree from Luther College and his medical degree from the University of Iowa.  He performed his General Surgery Residency in Denver, Colorado.

Besides caring for patients in Decorah, Dr. LaBelle will also be offering surgical services in West Union and Cresco. "Being a husband and a father of three children living in northeast Iowa, I understand the importance of being able to provide healthcare close to home," Dr. LaBelle comments. "Anytime we can bring top notch services to our patients and not make them drive to us, I think it is a great benefit for the patients."
