Decorah HS student receives National Merit Scholarship

Decorah High School graduate Bethany Davidson will receive a National Merit Scholarship to attend Gustavus Adolphus College, it was announced on Monday.

Bethany intends to be a theater major at Gustavus, the four-year liberal arts college supported by the Lutheran Church in America.  The scholarship is being funded by Gustavus.

Her scholarship was announced Monday as part of a group of more than 1,700 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.  This final group of winners brings the number of 2011 National Merit Scholars to approximately 8,300.

Earlier it was announced that Northwestern University had awarded a National Merit Scholarship to Decorah HS graduate Benjamin Bernatz and that Luther College had awarded a National Merit Scholarship to Decorah HS graduate Jacqueline Ott.
