Work has begun on a second welcome sign for Decorah.
The new sign is being built on property at the intersection of Highways 9 & 52. The $30,000 project has been largely funded by a $25,000 grant received as a result of Decorah being selected as one of Iowa's "Great Places."
As part of the welcome sign project, a time capsule will be buried on the property. City Historic Preservation officials are now accepting suggestions on what items should be included in the time capsule.
