


Twelve Luther College faculty retirees with a combined total of nearly 400 years experience at the college have now retired.
Luther has announced the retirements of English professor Carol Gilbertson, who spent 43 years at the college; anthropology professor Harvey Klevar, who was at Luther for 41 years; and accounting and management professor Uwe Rudolf, who spent 40 years at the college.
Other retirees were computer science professor Walt Will, with 39 years; music professor Frederick Nyline, with 38 years; management professor Richard Leake, with 36 years; professor of economics and director of international education Mark Lund, with 33 years; and education professor Judith Nye with 33 years.
Other retirees were associate professor of nursing Penny Leake, with 26 years; communication studies professor Alan Lerstrom, with 23 years; Spanish professor Virginia Gibbs, with 21 years; and associate professor of nursing Sheryl Juve, with 19 years.
Luther also honored three professors for reaching 25 years at the college—psychology professor David Bishop; associate professor of psychology David Njus; and professor of management Tim Schweizer.
