Winneshiek County might apply for grant for energy audits on farms

Winneshiek County officials next Monday will be asked to support an application for a grant for energy audits at farm houses and small businesses in the county.

Winneshiek Energy District Director Andy Johnson says the USDA Rural Development's Rural Energy for America Program has grants up to $100,000 available to programs that can provide the energy audits.

Johnson will meet next Monday with county supervisors to discuss the possible grant application.
