Special Traffic Enforcement Program results in several arrests in Decorah

The Decorah Police Department has just completed a Special Traffic Enforcement Program that ran for two weeks.

Decorah Police say they made 4 drunk driving arrests during that time; issued 10 seat belt citations; made three narcotics arrests and handled eight traffic accidents.

A survey before the STEP started showed 90 percent of motorists were using their seat belts.  That figure increased to 92 percent after the STEP.
