"Customer Parking" messages painted on downtown parking spaces

Crews from the City of Decorah Street Department have printed a message on many downtown Decorah parking spaces.  The message reads "Customer Parking"—and it's intended to remind people how important convenient parking spaces are for downtown businesses.  The message has been stenciled into parking lane dividers on Water Street and several side streets.

The project is run by the Downtown Decorah Betterment Association, which also contacts downtown business owners to urge them to remind their customers to park in the city parking lots north of Water Street.  The DDBA has a map showing the location of preferred parking spots for employees of downtown businesses.
