New welcome sign is just $5,000 from needed funds

The existing Decorah welcome sign

Decorah will get a second welcome sign some time in the future.

The sign project carries an expected price tag of $60,000, but the city has already received a $25,000 Iowa Great Places grant and is getting $30,000 in hotel/motel tax receipts.

The sign will be put up on property at the intersection of Highways 9 & 52.  The property for the sign is part of the property purchased by the city for the Trout Run Trail.
