National Nursing Assistants Week runs through Wednesday of this week--and Aase Haugen Homes is marking the occasion.
At Aase Haugen Homes, there are over 100 direct caregivers on staff, some full-time, some part-time and some on-call if needed. Each of these caregivers receives support and additional training through monthly in-services and professional membership in the National Association of Health Care Assistants.
Nursing assistants are key players in the lives of those who rely on their care. Not only are there Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), but there are also Certified Medication Assistants (CMAs), Universal Workers and Restorative Aides, who assist with therapies and rehabilitation. Each day, more than 2,500,000 caregivers provide hands-on care to our nation's elderly and chronically ill citizens in nursing homes and other settings.
