One of the grandstand events at this year's Winneshiek County Fair will be a Tractor Pull on Friday night. Fair Board president Gary Schutte says the starting time of the event has been pushed up to 6:00 p.m. in order to insure the tractor pull is done by 11:00 p.m., which is the time city officials have set for all fairground events to be finished.
But Schutte is worried about a mechanical delay causing the event to go over the 11:00 p.m. shutoff. He says the event should end at 10:00 p.m., but he wants permission to go past 11:00 p.m., if necessary.
City officials have informally granted permission to the Fair Board to go past 11:00 p.m., but only in the event of an emergency
