Barrett Gipp named Assistant County Attorney

Barrett Gipp has been appointed as an Assistant Winneshiek County Attorney.  Gipp joined the law firm of Anderson, Wilmarth, Van Der Maaten, Belay & Fretheim as an associate attorney on April 4th.

He is a graduate of Decorah High School and Luther College.  Gipp received his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa.  During law school, Barrett completed internships at the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York, and at the Polk County Attorney's Office in Des Moines.

Barrett married Jennifer Weier in September of 2010, whom he met when they both attended Luther College.  They both say that returning to Winneshiek County this year was an easy decision.  "We feel incredibly blessed to live in such a special community," says Barrett. "There are very few places like Winneshiek County and we look forward to being very active here for many years to come."
