Several Luther College students have worked to build a hoop house on college property on Pole Line Road west of Highway 52.
The 8 foot wide by 25 foot long hoop house was funded by a donation by Luther staff member Rich Tenneson. The facility was constructed by Luther carpenters Giles Teslow and Vernon Tuente, with help from Luther's Maren Stumme-Diers and from students Elsa McCargar, Bekky Willis and Alex Olson.
The hoop house is located next to the Luther Garden. a project that will impact food production for the college's food service and will serve as a tool for teaching students about seasonal extension of garden operations.
