A Fort Dodge man faces three traffic charges following a three-car accident on Highway 9 on Tuesday.
Police say 23-year-old Andres Lopez-Ortega was heading east of Highway 9 when he realized he was in the wrong lane and tried to switch lanes. Instead, he struck vehicles driven by 45-year-old Deanna Hageman of Decorah and 73-year-old Barbara Hellen of Ridgeway, causing a total of $4,700 in damages.
Lopez-Ortega was ticketed for not having insurance and not having a valid driver's license and for making an improper lane change.
