On Monday night the Decorah Community School Board approved a bid of $55,982 by Affordable Hazards Removal, Inc., of Monticello for asbestos abatement at Thomas Roberts High School. The abatement is one of the first steps in the multi-staged high school renovation.
Superintendent Mike Haluska was pleased with the bid that came in almost $15,000 below original estimates. The board was also pleased that the low bidder had done previous satisfactory work for the district.
