Grief support group begins meeting Thursday at Winneshiek Medical Center

Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice is offering a free grief support group beginning Thursday.

The six-week program meets each Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  It is free and open to the public.

"Everyone's experience with loss is unique, but there are some similarities that are sometimes helpful to talk about with others," said Winneshiek Medical Center social worker Karen Nielsen.  "The grief support group is for those who have recently lost a loved one and for those whose grief has just resurfaced. The group helps individuals allow themselves to feel loss and discover ways they can work through it."

Registration is required to participate in the free grief support group.
