The Board of Trustees of Winneshiek Medical Center on Wednesday approved a budget calling for $62 million in revenues in fiscal year 2012. The budget predicts the hospital will continue to operate in the black.
Just $429,000 of the hospital's revenues next year will come from local property taxes. Winneshiek County residents will be charged 46 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation to support the hospital. That's actually a decrease of two cents per thousand from this year's tax rate--because Winneshiek county's overall property valuation has gone up.
