City council approves Meehan & Schwartz site plan

The Decorah City Council on Monday night approved a site plan for a new Meehan and Schwartz Family Eye Care facility.

The business had originally asked Winneshiek County to lease it space for a new clinic, but was turned down. Meehan and Schwartz then turned to Winneshiek Medical Center, which agreed to lease to it some hospital-owned land. Meehan and Schwartz will build a new 10,000-square-foot clinic that will be built to the north of the existing eye clinic. The hospital will use the entire existing eye clinic building after the new eye clinic is built.
