A gallery reception for Knutson will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in conjunction with the Black History Conference. The reception includes an example of conference-related art created by Luther students on display in the Union Gallery.

Knutson received the bachelor's degree in philosophy from Luther. He worked as a photographer's assistant in Minneapolis until he established Knutson Photography, Inc.  His portraits have been on display at the Minneapolis Photo Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Carlson Lecture series 25th anniversary celebration, Augsburg College, Augustana College, Luther College, The University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute and Westminister Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.
