Luther College grants tenure to 11 people

The Luther College Board of Regents has approved granting tenure to eleven faculty members.

Receiving tenure are Spencer Martin and Michael Smith of Luther's music department.  Receiving tenure and getting promoted to associate professor are Robert Christman and Victoria Christman in the history department; Steve Holland in economics and business; Brooke Joyce and Sandra Peter in the music department; Lisa Lantz in theatre/dance; Derek Sweet in communication studies; Amy Weldon in English; and Laurie Zaring in modern languages and literature.

Additionally, Luther President Richard Torgerson has announced that Carol Hester in the music department; Penny Leake in the nursing program; and Marvin Slind in the history department are all being promoted to full professor, while Andrew Whitfield in the music department is being promoted to associate professor.
