Sheriff's department responds to a two-vehicle crash on Valders Road

There was a two-vehicle accident on Valders Road east of Decorah shortly before noon on Thursday.

A Jeep driven by William Behrend of Waukon and a car driven by Tyler Sommer of Waukon collided head on in the roadway.  The gravel road was down to one lane due to drifting of snow.  The two vehicles struck at the crest of the hill.

Neither driver was injured.  The accident caused $6,000 in damages.
