


The Winneshiek County Compensation Board has made its recommendations on pay raises for next year for elected county officials.
The board has forwarded to the county board a recommendation calling for two percent pay raises for all elected officials except the County Recorder, who is new to the job.
Under the proposal, supervisors would get a $500 pay raise to $27,615. The county board chairman would continue to receive an additional $700 for his extra duties.
Sheriff Lee Bohr would be paid $62,779 under the proposal; County Attorney Andy Van Der Maaten would receive $55,899; county Treasurer Wayne Walter would be paid $48,306; County Auditor Ben Steines would receive $47,935; and new County Recorder Teresa Bockman would continue to receive $46,951.
The Compensation Board's recommendations must be approved on a vote by the Winneshiek County Board in order to go into effect as of July 1st.
