Donna e-mails Mr. Answer Person: "What Calmar doctor is giving up his license and why?"
Mr. Answer Person says: The doctor in question is Dennis Glawe, who formerly practiced medicine for Gundersen Clinic in Calmar. Late last month the Iowa Board of Medicine issued a statement saying that Glawe had voluntarily surrendered his Iowa medical license.
The Iowa Board of Medicine in 1996 heard a complaint that Glawe had engaged in a sexual relationship with a female patient. The Board ruled that the complaint against Glawe was justified and ordered him to pay a $2,000 fine for engaging in a sexual relationship with a patient.
Recently the Iowa Board of Medicine received a second complaint about Glawe. It stated that he had recently engaged in a sexual relationship with a female patient.
This time to complaint did not go to a formal ruling. Instead Glawe accepted a settlement agreement with the Board that called for him to surrender his Iowa Medical license.
