Gundersen Clinic-Decorah hires new physician

The Gundersen Lutheran – Decorah Clinic has hired Strawberry Point native Matt Thompson for their family medicine staff.

Dr. Thompson's practice includes obstetrical care, diabetes care, pediatrics, preventive medicine, dermatology and sports medicine.

Says
Dr. Thompson, "Family medicine not only allows me the unique opportunity to care for patients at varying life stages, but also is a specialty of tremendous breadth. The variety in this type of practice makes each day unique and stimulating."

Thompson earned a
n undergraduate degree from Luther College and a medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his residency at Mercy Family Medicine Residency in Mason City this past spring.
 

Dr. Thompson and his wife, Claire, have two children: 4-year-old Gwenyth and 1-year-old Colin with a third child due early next year.
