


Luther College assistant professor of English Amy Weldon has been selected as a co-recipient of the $1,000 Bevel Summers Award. Weldon is receiving the award for her piece of nonfiction, "The Odd Girls: Flannery O'Connor and Me."
Weldon holds the bachelor of arts degree in English and journalism from Auburn University and the masters degree in English and the doctoral degree in nineteenth-century British literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has completed a story collection and is at work on a novel.
Barry Moser of North Hatfield, Massachusetts, a professor-in-residence at Smith College, will share the $1,000 Bevel Summers Award with Weldon.
