Winneshiek Medical Center is observing National Nutrition Month during March. The observance is part of a national campaign to increase awareness of the importance of diet in a healthy lifestyle.
Winneshiek Medical Center dietician Joetta Redlin says, "It is widely known that a healthy diet can have a positive impact on your health. What people may not realize is that small changes can have a significant effect on your well-being." She recommends increasing your fruit and vegetable intake by just one serving a day; choosing lean meats, poultry or fish; and substituting your afternoon soda with a bottle or glass of water.
