28 food service staffers from Decorah, Turkey Valley, Postville, Starmont and Oelwein schools recently participated in a 2-hour Safe Food workshop at Upper Iowa University as part of the NE Iowa Farm to School project.
Farm to School Americorps worker Flannery Cerbin used a black light to inspect the hand-washing techniques of the school food service workers. The workshop was hosted by ISU Extension and provided training on hand washing, sanitizing, cross contamination and food temperatures.
