January was cooler, dryer than normal

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says January in Decofah was cool and dry.

Bernatz says the average temperature in Decorah in January was 13.7 degrees. That's 2.4 degrees cooler than the average of all January temperatures in the last 116 years.

Temperatures in January in Decorah ranged from 24 degrees below zero on January 3rd to 36 degrees on January 24th.

Bernatz also reports Decorah received 0.86 inches of precipitation in January--0.17 inches less than average.
