The financial picture at Winneshiek Medical Center is brightening.
The hospital lost money for several months during the 2008-2009 fiscal year, but recent months have been much better, due to cost-cutting moves and greater attention to getting accounts receivables paid.
The latest financial statement from the hospital, covering the month of November, shows it had a net gain of $307,513. The hospital's cash reserves are now approaching $1.5 million. For the fiscal year to date (July 1st through November 30th), the hospital has had a net gain of $717,281.
