Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink doesn't want the public to relax yet in taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19.
The latest figures have shown a decline in COVID-19 rates, but only because November set a record for the number of new cases in Winneshiek County--430. As of Sunday, December 27th, there have been 357 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Winneshiek County.
Overall, 1,344 Winneshiek County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of March. 787 of those positive results came in November and December. That total represents 59 percent of all cases since March--and there are still four days left in December.
