Winneshiek County has the highest number of total COVID-19 cases and current COVID-19 cases in NE Iowa

The latest COVID-19 statistics for the six counties in NE Iowa show five out of the six counties now have surpassed 1,000 cases since the epidemic began.
Winneshiek County has had 1,344 cases since March, while Clayton County is just one behind--1,343 cases. Fayette County is not far behind with 1,331 cases. Allamakee County has 1,145 cases. Chickasaw County has passed the 1,000 mark with 1,015 total cases, while Howard County, with its smaller population, has reported 690 cases. That means there have been 6,865 total COVID-19 cases in the six-county area since March.
Currently there are 361 active cases in Winneshiek County; 328 cases in Allamakee County; 277 active cases in Fayette County; 188 cases in Clayton County; 144 active cases in Chickasaw County and 132 cases in Howard County.
NE Iowa has lost 117 residents to COVID-19. 39 people have died in Clayton County; 20 in Allamakee County; 17 in Winneshiek County; 16 in Fayette County; 15 in Howard County and 10 in Chickasaw County.
