Winneshiek County reports an increase in total COVID-19 cases, but a decrease in active cases compared to one week ago.
Wednesday's figures show Clayton County with 1,314 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,320 total cases, Fayette County with 1,294 total cases, Allamakee County with 1,116 total cases, Chickasaw County with 1,007 total cases, and Howard County with 672 total cases.
Winneshiek County currently has 367 active cases of COVID-19 — down 31 from last Wednesday. Allamakee County reports 348 active cases, Fayette County reports 266 active cases, Clayton County reports 198 active cases, Chickasaw County reports 165 active cases, and Howard County reports 135 active cases.
Since March, 117 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 39 in Clayton County, 20 in Allamakee County, and 17 in Winneshiek County.
