Tree and brush removal along Bluffton Road is paying off

Winneshiek County crews continue to work to remove brush and trees along Bluffton Road.

County Roadside Manager Corey Meyer says the removal "is working."  That's because the county's Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management Plan calls for managing trees and shrubs in the county right-of-way (ROW).

Road corridors in the county are designed to allow people to travel safely from one location to another and projects such as the current one produce clearer sight lines.

According to Roadside Management's county website page, the plan "promotes safer conditions for vehicles, erosion control, limit sedimentation, reduce herbicide use, and develop natural areas for wildlife especially pollinators and roadside beautification."
