Winneshiek Medical Center soon will have a new Chief Medical Officer

The Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a recommendation from the SW Wisconsin Mayo Clinic organization on a new Chief Medical Officer for WMC.

The board's recommendation will now be sent back to the Mayo Clinic branches in SW Wisconsin for final action. If that organization also approves the appointment, the new Chief Medical Officer at WMC could be announced before the end of the year.

The position is currently being held by D.P.M. Thomas Marquardt, who agreed to serve, but only as Interim Chief Medical Officer. He has been in that position since last year, when the previous Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Robert Flinchbaugh, resigned.
