Winneshiek County reports an increase in total COVID-19 cases, but a decrease in active cases compared to one week ago.
Wednesday's figures show Clayton County with 1,275 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,242 total cases, Fayette County with 1,204 total cases, Allamakee County with 1,042 total cases, Chickasaw County with 972 total cases, and Howard County with 639 total cases.
Winneshiek County currently has 398 active cases of COVID-19 — down 48 from last Wednesday. Allamakee County reports 378 active cases, Fayette County reports 300 active cases, Clayton County reports 294 active cases, Chickasaw County reports 186 active cases, and Howard County reports 177 active cases.
Since March, 101 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 28 in Clayton County, 18 in Allamakee County, and 16 in Winneshiek County.
