Deaths from COVID-19 in NE Iowa have hit the 100 mark

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting that 100 people have died from the COVID-19 virus in the six counties of NE Iowa.

27 of those deaths have been in Clayton County, 18 in Allamakee County, and 16 in Winneshiek County.  Howard County has had 15 COVID-19 related deaths, Fayette County has had 14, and Chickasaw County has had 10.

Overall, there have been 6,307 positive cases of COVID-19 in NE Iowa this year.  Clayton County has had 1,269; Winneshiek County has had 1,217; Fayette County has had 1,197; Allamakee County has had 1,027; Chickasaw County has had 967; and Howard County has had 630.

Currently, 4,431 NE Iowa residents who had been diagnosed with having COVID-19 have recovered, while 1,776 are still in quarantine or in isolation.
