The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says a two-vehicle accident happened Thursday afternoon on Highway 150 in Washington Township.
84-year-old Anthony Kruse of Fort Atkinson was northbound on Highway 150 and pulled over on the west shoulder to pick up his mail from his mailbox. Kruse then turned to cross the highway and enter his driveway. While doing this, he turned in front of 40-year-old Laurie Miller of West Union.
Deputies say Miller took evasive action and braked, but collided with Kruse. No ambulance transport was needed. The accident did $13,000 in damages.
Kruse was ticketed for Failure to Yield the Right-of-way.
