In a Wednesday morning news conference, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced she would extend the current mask mandate and other measures imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The mandates and other measures will be in effect until December 16th.
She also announced the State of Iowa would send 30-day supplies of personal protective equipment, including masks, gowns and gloves, at no cost to Iowa's 430 long-term care facilities.
The latest proclamation includes a few changes. The state is easing restrictions on elective procedures for hospitals. The two-spectator limit per athlete at athletic events will also apply to cheerleaders and band members performing at high school sporting events. The proclamation will also make some fine-tuning to the limit on in-person service past 10 p.m. at restaurants, bars and other venues that serve alcohol.
