Winneshiek County saw an increase of 144 positive COVID-19 cases in just one week, but a decline in active cases.
Wednesday's figures show Clayton County with 1,221 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,156 total cases, Fayette County with 1,147 total cases, Allamakee County with 964 total cases, Chickasaw County with 942 total cases, and Howard County with 603 total cases.
Winneshiek County currently has 446 active cases of COVID-19 — down 27 from last Wednesday. Fayette County reports 412 active cases, Clayton County reports 407 active cases, Allamakee County reports 380 active cases, Howard County reports 223 active cases, and Chickasaw County reports 184 active cases.
Since March, 88 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 22 in Clayton County, 16 in Allamakee County, and 14 in Winneshiek County.
