Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says last week saw 137 new COVID-19 cases in Winneshiek County.  More than that, she says the cases were spread throughout the county.  In response to a question at Monday's Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors meeting, she said while Decorah might have more cases than other communities in the county, that's because Decorah's population is larger.  She told supervisors there was "no place left untouched" last week among the 137 new COVID-19 cases.

Monday's figures show Clayton County with 1,199 total cases, Fayette County with 1,132 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,112 total cases, Chickasaw County with 931 total cases, Allamakee County with 929 total cases and Howard County with 597 total cases.

Since March, 99 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 16 in Chickasaw County, 14 in Winneshiek County, and 13 in Allamakee County.

Clayton County has 476 active cases of COVID-19, Fayette County has 470 active cases, Winneshiek County has 453 active cases, Allamakee County has 400 active cases, Howard County has 262 active cases and Chickasaw County has 175 active cases.
